This Saturday, 8/15 from 6-9PM, our NEW 501(c)(3) registered non-profit sister organization, Full Hearts, is holding its inaugural Carnival! Please come out and show your support for our community!

We would love to see you and your family play games with us, shop with our small business and local food vendors, and hear more about how you can support your community in real ways. We all want to help, and a lot of the time, we just don't know HOW or WHAT is actually needed from us. This Friday, we are making that easy- all we need you to do is come and have fun! Connect with your community! Enjoy yourself! 

Tickets for the carnival and more information can be found linked below, but here are some teasers!

• Every admission ticket purchase goes toward our goal of $1,000 total raised at our Inaugural Event! At the time of writing this blog post, we are just over 30% of the way there!
• Every admission ticket purchase comes with TEN  "Full Hearts Tickets". These tickets can be redeemed for any gameplay, activities, and concessions that are sponsored by Full Hearts at the Carnival!
• You can use your "Full Hearts Tickets" toward our raffle, which will be full of local goodies and services to win! 

So what does Full Hearts need donations for, anyway?

I'm so happy you asked! Full Hearts has three pillars of community assistance we strive to offer to the Kansas City Metro:

• Mental Health and Self Care Support and Awareness- we hope to fill your 2027 calendars with FREE community events that aren't a huge commitment. Think along the lines of a "BYOBook Club", "Annual Coffeeshop Crawl", and "Park Clean and Play Days". We want to offer our community positive ways to engage with each other, that don't require a price tag for entry.
• Food Insecurity- This initiative is near and dear to us at Full Hearts, as the temporary November 2025 "Full Hearts, Full Pantries" Initiative we completed at Mental Health in a Box Co. was the catalyst to creating Full Hearts as an organization in the first place. We see ourselves hosting "Full Hearts, Full Pantries" again and again, as well as supporting other midwestern communities that are facing their own devastations due to natural disasters, setbacks from political decisions, etc. We accomplish this by partnering with Abundance Nights, a midwestern initiative in Indiana that is run by one of our Board Members of Full Hearts, and have served over 1,000+ Families to date. This community can count on a hot meal a couple of times a month, with no questions asked, because of Cheyenne. We are honored to assist in any way we can with Abundance Nights.
• Utility Assistance- far too often, utility assistance is something families apply for, and then wait on, until it is simply too late. We see a large gap between people who need utility assistance, and people who are actually able to obtain it because of income restrictions. We want to help bridge that gap by operating directly with local utility companies to pay debts for the members of our communities. If we are able to meet our fundraising goal, non-income restricted applications will be open in September of 2026. This initiative, named "The Light in the Dark Utility Fund" would be an ongoing initiative for us at Full Hearts throughout the year.
